Marlo Hampton is the newest reality star on BRAVO’s Real Housewives of Atlanta. The show features Marlo’s impeccable taste in fashion and gave the world and heart stopping view of Marlo’s closet. After spending a few moments drooling over her amazing shoe collection I begin working to get Marlo featured on ShoeAcidal. Although, I didn’t get to speak directly to Marlo I was given an opportunity to ask her a few questions about her amazing shoe collection, Real Housewives of Atlanta, Marlo’s Closet, and her non profit Glam it Up…
How did you build such an amazing shoe closet?
When I first purchased my home there was another bedroom next to mine which I had no use for. Once I saw the size of the master closet I began to have my vision. This was not a suitable closet for a girl who loves fashion! So, I had the walls knocked out between my master closet and my other bedroom, and with the help of California Closets, the dream world which I consider my closet, arose.
Tell us about how you lay out your shoes … color, heels.
I keep my shoes in order according to color from dark to light. I also like to have my shoes displayed left toe forward, right toe back, that way I can have a clear overview of my shoes without removing them.
Do you remember you first pair of high heels? Ans when you got your first pair of designer shoes?
Not exactly. However I can surely say they came from Payless back in my teenage years. That used to be my store! I Probably got my first pair of designer heels in the early 90′s
Do you ever wear the same shoe twice in one week?
Absolutely!! I’m always telling myself if “I wear these shoes one more time…” lol.
Where do your get your “shoe” fashion sense?
It would have to come from my mother. She always kept us dressed exceptionally well whether the clothes were from Kmart or even Goodwill. We were always dressed up starting with the ruffled dressed and matching ruffled socks.
Who is your favorite shoe designer? And what is the highest inch heel that you have worn?
Jimmy Choo or Tom Ford but the list can go on and on lol! Hmmm, close to 7inches.
How did you come up with the concept of Marlo’s Closet?
I get so many questions about my style and I have so many pieces that I’ve worn and can never wear again! So instead of letting them collect dust I decided to allow fashion lovers as well as my fans all over the world get a piece of me through something that we all love…and let’s not forget at a great price 
What are you hoping that your fans will get from Marlo’s Closet?
I want all of my fans to be able to own something beautiful but for much less. It allows me to connect with them by knowing that they have a part of me and that they can create new memories with something that I have loved..
What upcoming projects do you have in the works?
Well there are many things which I cannot mention…however, I do look forward to sharing with my fans the side of me that is passionate about my work with young girls in the foster care system and of course more projects where I can further my interest in fashion.
What is Glam it up?
Glam it up is a project for young girls in the foster care system which I began in 2011. Having been there, I know what it feels like and can relate very well to the obstacles and desperation they feel. I want to take the girls I work with out of that environment and let them see that the sky is the limit! Last Fall I hosted an event for them – a day of pampering, hair and make-up, manicures, and even etiquette lessons. I look forward to doing many more things with them, giving them a place where they can feel safe, accepted, cared about and the chance to fulfill their dreams
How has being on The Real Housewives of Atlanta changed your life?
It has been interesting to be able to watch myself and see some of my mistakes. It has helped me grow and become a better person. I have also been surprised by the inspiration that my fans are getting from me, I hope to be able to give them more…
What are you hoping your fans will learn about you from being on the show?
That people make mistakes and they are still able to build an amazing life from that. I have a past as we all do, and you cannot let that hinder you from what lies ahead. Oh yeah…and I love my labels and Fashion lol.

Hands down Nene!

Either my personal assistant and stylist, Daniel Hawkins or Nene Leakes.
What positive words would you leave for young women trying to make it in the industry?
Be yourself and love you! In this industry tough skin is a necessity. You’re beautiful regardless of anyone their opinion and you have to believe in yourself before anyone else can.
OMG I had a total shoe-gasm watching the episode when Marlo showed her closet! And I LOVE handbags, so I literally had to rewind the episode, hit pause, and just admire! LOL! I’m seriously going to have to check out “Marlo’s Closet”!
Marlo definitely is how all women should represent in their appearance. She is ALWAYS ON! I love her. I must give her props. I also love how she is a real person. No sugar coating from her, she’s the real deal.
