Yesterday I decide to stop by ROSS one favorite spots for great bargains on shoes. As I randomly strolled through the shoe department I found this fabulous Peep Toe diva.
Instantly I started to rationalize. Justifying why I needed them, thinking of the place they would fit in my closet, and of course I did a quick mental calender check for the next opportunity to wear them. YES! my mind went there before I had tried the shoe on. After all that thought, I had to try them on. Needless to say I purchased them and now I’m sitting here wondering…
Will they be my Friend or Foe
With my extremely narrow feet I can never seem to find the perfect fit as it relates to peep toes. They’re either too big and act like high heel flip flops, or too small and cut off the circulation in my toes (ouch). Seriously, but for some reason I keep giving them a try. I think its because 85% of the time I see a pair they look so HOT. So I want buy them; take them home; place them on the mantel; and wear them at my next big event. Only to regret my decision a couple hours into the first wear.

Are you Friends or Foes with the Peep Toe?
If your Friends please share the details on how you mastered this beautiful diva with the rest of us?

I’m a friend… for the most part. I can’t wear every peep toe or I know I’ll have the aforementioned problems… Instead, I have to check for the following before I purchase: Does the peep “hole” have soft leather to allow for the inevitable toe wiggling/movement? Is the shoe made of REAL leather? Is the heel higher than 3-4 inches? Does the shoe fit perfectly?
I’ve found that if the shoe doesn’t fit perfectly (too big I slide forward and too small my toes are squeezed) or the heel is too high (I’ll have to walk with the weight on my toes thus causing PAIN in the peep, lol) or the material isn’t leather (it won’t mold to the shape of my feet)… I can’t rock the peep toe.
I confess, however, that I TOO love a good PEEP SHOW!

Shipwrecked thanks a mil for the suggestions I will definitely be giving them a try because after all what good is a good peep show if you can’t add them to your collection

I second that! Loooove peep toes. However when they don’t work out its usually my poor that catch hell.
Ceph for awhile I thought I was alone because I see so many women wearing them. Glad to see I’m not alone others just have found ways to make them work.

Hopping on the bandwagon with this one. Love the style of a peep-toe, but all are not created equally. I have a narrow foot as well (with a relatively high arch), and peep-toe shoes don’t do it for me all the time. I love shipwrecked’s tips, they are defiantly on point. My Granny (who is definitely shoeacidal at 81 yrs old) says to put a band aid around the hole if it isn’t comfortable, it helps.
*definitely, not defiantly
Ms Lici,
I so love that your grandma is ShoeAcidal at 81 how cute. I too have tried her recommendation and found a little extra comfort with the band aid solution.

Definitely a friend but, I have to agree with the other shoeacidal sisters. It’s hard to get a peep toe that fits comfortably without making a few adjustments. Tips given will be put into great use
Joanna,
Isn’t it crazy that a shoe so freaking cute could cause so much pain. I can’t wait to try Shipwrecked tips out

So funny that you wrote this, because I recently migrated into the Peeptoe Foe camp. Is it just me, or do they make it look like everyone has pig’s feet?

Tamia,
I was crying laughing when I read this. Yes. They definitely give most women the pig’s feet look especially, when they push your feet to the front and do that flip flop thing.

Here’s a really great comment from the Facebook page;

I have 2 great solutions for you Shoe lovers out there. Before my foot surgeries I had the same issue: Narrow feet the flopped out of shoes, slid to the front (giving you that hang over the shoe look), are too tight in the toes. Now my feet are a little wider in the front but still narrow in the heel. I found that heel pads not only work for blisters but help with no slip, and I saw an infomercial for a new spray that “magically” widens the material of your shoe (thumbs up). You can also use household alcohol and a rolled up pair of socks to stretch your shoes.
