Essence Black Women in Music 2012

While out in LA earlier this week, Curly Nikki invited me to be her plus one for the 3rd Annual Essence Black Women in Music.  Can you believe it? I was beyond honored to be considered for such a position. Even if I had one million other plans or wanted to say no, nothing but a YES was coming out of my mouth. So, I got the details and meet Nikki at her place.

This was our first time meeting one another face to face and to be honest, I was a bit nervous.  Sure, we’ve talked on the phone and via text but there’s nothing like meeting someone for the first time. OMG, Nikki welcomed me with open arms and can I just say she is even more fabulous in person than what I had imagined. She was down to earth, uber sweet and freaking hilarious. So, of course we hit it off instantly.

From the outside looking in you would have sworn we have been friends our entire lifetime. We Pre-gamed a bit while she finished prepping then headed out for the night. We were pleasantly checked in by two of Nikki’s curlynikki.com curlies. It was on from there! The night was EPIC and I can’t thank Nikki enough for allowing me to join her for such an amazing time.
